Alright Ive got a Dell 2400 series, and a 128 stick in one slot and a 256 stick in the other. So that makes 384mb, simple. Well my system properties registers it as 384mb of RAM, and I've got a RAM optimizer program that recognizes the 384mb, but when I restart my computer, right at the beginning, only 256mb is listed. I was thinking it could be that the RAM slots only register 128mb each but why would my system properties register 384? It doesnt seem to be affecting my perfomance, I could be wrong though, and just havent noticed since its probably been like this awhile. If anybody knows, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

oh i forgot to mention that. The 128 stick came with the computer, and the 256 I later added.

If the 256 MB stick came with the computer and the 128 didn't, then it's probably only recognizing the default, stock hardware. If both of them came with the system, then I'd say don't worry about, just a harmless glitch.
