Yes! They are called sexually transmitted Diseases, but its still possible to come in contact without sexual intercourse - mostly because they are transfered through body fluids, mostly blood, and one can come in contact with another persons blood through needle usage (tattoos, drugs), open cuts (blood to blood kind of deal, blood to skin is risky, which is why professionals wear gloves and wash their hands so much).

Some are also contacted through easier ways, but from what I know, less common. If you are worried you have one, talk to your family doctor (or you can google it).

Yep. You can get oral herpes through sharing a Coke, for instance. You can also get or give herpes and other diseases by going down on someone with it, if you want define oral sex as "not sex". If you have an STD and are pregnant, you can pass it down to the kid or give the kid problems because of it. Passing around blood is a good way to get lots of diseases.

Basically, you need to be careful around genitals, bodily fluids, and open sores.

It's not a sexually transmitted disease if sex didn't occur...however some stds can be transmitted without intercourse having taken place.

Do some research if you think you have one...when intimate body parts come in contact, body fluids, germs, bacteria, and viruses can be shared.

Only if your parents have the disease and you are born, you are born with it.For example,HIV,other than that, say you get a tattoo done, and that needle has not been cleaned good and has been in someone with a disease, you can get it.
