I am 33 years old I have 2 healthy kids a boy and girl. I went to my obgyn yesterday and I am in the process of getting pre-testing and all that jazz to get my tubes tied.
Everyone is telling me I am too young.

I was wondering how old other ladies were and how many kids you have

hi there!!!
i just wanted to let you know that it is OK to get your tubes tied now at this age.......i was 34 years of age when i had my tubes tied and it was the best thing i have ever done, because i didn't want any more children.....and i was very sure when i made up my mind that this was what i wanted to do....you shouldn't let other people try to make this decision for you if you know in your heart that this is what you want.

good luck and God bless and keep you safe and happy.

I had my tubes tied almost 11 years ago. I was 28 and had just given birth to my 4th child. My husband and I had decided we wanted 4 children. We discussed all the options, and chose for me to have the operation since I was already in the hospital and the recovery would coincide with recovering from the birth. Believe me, after having 4 children, I didn't notice any difference in the recovery.

It was the BEST decision we ever made. Having your tubes tied frees you from the worry of pregnancy. You would be amazed at the feelings it invoked. I too had heard all sorts of stories, many of them bad. I felt more like a woman than I ever had. We could have spontaneous relations without the worry or time involved in protecting me from getting pregnant.

I will admit that there are occassions when I miss the ability to have another child.....but then again, I think that would happen even if I were using another form of birth control. That is very normal, and is usually eased by baby-sitting for friends.....lol.

I highly recommend it if you are certain that you do not want to have any more children, as the reversal is costly and not 100% effective.

Good luck to you and your family.

if you choose to have your tubes tied your husband has to agree to it too it is a family decision only the two of you can make
figure out your financial status and how old you would be by the time any more children born to you would take to grow up and
be out on their own

I wanted mine done in my 20s, and had no kids, but apparently women that age are assumed by the medical community to not know their own mind. *shakes head*

I never got it done, but I'm 42 with no kids (by choice). You are not too young...just be as sure as you can be that it's what you want.

Your body...your choice...don't worry about what others say...simply because you are female doesn't obligate you to remain capable of conceiving until menopause.

You're not too young, women in their early twenties get their tubes tied.Anyways don't listen to other people, that's your body.If you don't want anymore kids, and are 100% sure then do it.If you turn up pregnant and are not ready are those people gonna help you,I don't think so.

I am 27 and pregnant with my second child and plan to get my tubs tide when I have him. You know, men could help us out a little couldn't they? They have an office visit, we have major surgery! Male pride, gotta love it! (NOT) LOL
