Will it hit $3? Who is responsible?

It could have something to do with the fact that close to 50% of the price of the gas is taxes on some level or another. Then the government needs even more money to send off to the oil companies (who assuredly do NOT need it) in order to secure more favors and political support... Politics is a nasty game.

Although gas consumption is down this time of year, the cold weather has made the production of heating oil more in demand.
If the climate would warm up, gas would get cheaper because people would use less heating oil. The world would be much better off if the climate would warm up.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the tensioin between the US and Iran. Everytime something like this occurs, prices of gas goes up. It's preparation of potential things to come.

It is time to raise the price of "heroin." The cartel has dedided to make us pay more again. Profits weren't high enough last year.

OPEC. every time prices start to come down, they cut production to offset the surplus.
