I really liked it. It portrays how far these two magicians (Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman) will go in order to achieve the ultimate magic trick. as the movie unfolds, you slowly see that the magician who you thought was the "bad" guy ends upp being the good guy, and that the other magician you claimed to be the "good" guy ends up being the one who takes ridiculously desperate measures just so he can get the lime-light he craves.

VERY GOOD OVERALL!!!! lots of twists! you ant to see it again after its over..... SO PAY ATTENTION THE FIRST TIME YOU SEE IT!!!! enjoy! also you may mant to go to places like rottentomatoes.com or other movie websites to see what others have said about it......... have fun!

The Prestige attempts a hat trick by combining a ridiculously good-looking cast, a highly regarded new director, and more than one sleight of hand. Does it pull it off? Sort of. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman play rival magicians who were once friends before an on-stage tragedy drove a wedge between them. While Bale's Alfred Borden is a more skilled illusionist, Jackman's Rufus Angier is the better showman; much of the film's interesting first half is their attempts to sabotage--and simultaneously, top--each other's tricks. Even with the help of a prop inventor (Michael Caine) and a comely assistant (Scarlett Johansson), Angier can't match Borden's ultimate illusion: The Transporting Man. Angier's obsession with learning Borden's trick leads him to an encounter with an eccentric inventor (David Bowie) in a second half that gets bogged down in plot loops and theatrics.

The movie was quite good, Bale,Jackman and Caine rokd while johanson is as alwayse icing on cake.

8.5/10
