i was told that if someone loves another person alot and the person is about to die it is better to clone the person

It wouldn't do any good because that person being cloned would have to grow up normally and life experiences are different for everyone and is what makes us an individual.
But if your talking about cloning humans for organ harvesting...that's just wrong.

It totally makes no meaning... You love someone for him/her. Her character, the memories you all shared... You don't love someone because he/she looks exactly like the one you loved. So what for clone another identical "twin"? I'll rather keep him/her in my heart than face a face that will in turn become a stranger... -.-"
