I want to buy a next gen console and I am wondering if the under $1 auctions are true or not. If you have bought something nice for a very low price could you please reply I'm not sure if it is some sort of scam.

Sure, the auction may start at $1 but it probably won't end at $1.
Also make sure you pay special attention to the shipping charge. MANY times the shipping charge is so outrageous that you'll end up spending more than the item is worth.

Actually, there are 2 types of "$1 auctions" at Ebay.

The first type is $1 and below staring bid auctions. Those auctions start with low bid to attract bidders and avoid paying high Ebay insertion fee. However, eventually bidders will bid up the price. You can sometime get bargains from this type of auctions.

The second type is auctions that have $1 or below Buy It Now price. In these type of auctions, you actually can buy the item below $1. However, when you look at the auction's description carefully, you will find that the auction has a very high shipping and handling fee. Seller hid the price of the item in the handling fees and you will not find bargains in this type of auctions. Sellers use this kind of auction is to avoid Ebay final value fees. So this is a scam, but is for Ebay and not for you.

there is no scam, just make sure you read da whole listing first and make sure your are bidding on da console and not something else. alslo if its under $1 and theres stil time left to bid like days, it will go up to a high price.
