It is funny that so many people remember this. It's like asking where were you when JFK died? I was too young, probably asleep in my crib.

I do distinctly remember when I heard Anna Nicole was dead. I was at work. A guy I work with said a friend of his just called and said they found Anna Nicole dead. I asked where, he said that he didn't know.

I went and looked on the computer on CNN. Sure enough, it was the headlines that Anna Nicole was found dead in a hotel.

It was about 2 pm central time. We kept an eye on CNN the rest of the day for any updates. It was just so hard to believe, so soon after her son.

My father has been ill with an unusual malady since December. Between Hospital visits and shlepping from one Medical Specialist to another, I had learned to tune everything and everyone out around me and just -
SIT -
CROCHET -
and LISTEN for dad's name to be called.

While waiting for the most recent appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon, I was flying through a skein of Caron's Blue Mint yarn when I happened to glance up and realize that everyone in the room was watching the corner television. ...Even the reception Nurses.

I turned to see they were all watching the Fox News Channel. I watched in complete surprise.

I had been so tired of the constant "who's yo' daddy" mess... and sad when she lost her son... upset when her mom was indiscreet on TV about her opinion on Daniel's death... all just passing glances into this woman's recent life... but this time I couldn't look away.

It is sad that her life just seemed so wasted on a desire to be Marylin Monroe... and now she nearly is.

Peace. --De

I was walking in the door of my house and my daughter (11 years old) came up to me and said "Mommy that lady that looks like Marilyn Monroe died!" At first I thought maybe she was talking about Madonna but I remembered she was too young to remember that phase of Madonna's career. I asked my daughter what was her name and she ran to my room and came back with thepurse that she had bought me for Christmas. It was the Guess! purse with Anna Nicole eating a box of chocolates.

FYI- I'm a big Marilyn Monroe fan and my daughter bought the purse because she thought it was Marilyn. Guess maybe I'll hang onto the purse and put it with my MM stuff.

I was at my night class. It was before class and I was surfing the internet and I saw it and I thought for a split second that it was a joke or something. I really was blown away.

I was in bed, half asleep, but the radio was on and I heard the news and thought, "What the f---?? That can't be right!" Unbelievable, so soon after Daniel's death.

No earthly idea. This is not a life changing event, and associating it with any particular event in my life is a waste of my time. Thank God they've finally buried her....now she can fade away!!
