Hi

I put washing powder and the fabric conditioner together in the washing machine.
Then I found there are some spots on my white jacket.

How can I remove those spots caused by the fabric conditioner?

Thanks a lot !!!

Hey
There are a few things you could do! What colour spots are they? Are you sure its not mini bits of fluff frm other garments that youre washing such as a towel?
I found that if i used detergent with those fancy blue enzyemes in that some have it would make my whie things get blue spots.
I advice if you are washing whites use only the purest white powder you can find.
You could also be using to much detergent and fabric conditioner.
Try washing the jacket by hand with only about a quarter of a cup of powder and then spinning it in yr machine (if you have this function) and adding yr conditioner at this stage,. Try buying ones that are labelled concentrate and ony use upto one capful and no more.
Put it in yr mahine on the spin cyle.

If yr trying to wash the spots out themselves---I dont know exactly what they look like so I dont know what would be the best advice for this, but try brushing the jacket if this doesnt work----soak it in very hot water and while its still sitting in the water get a little thick bleach on a damp cloth and rub it on each spot ( not the best idea if u have lots of spots every where-rewashing in no detergent or conditioner maybe the best bet).

But if its only a few spots or a stain do the bleach thing and the quickly dunk them back in the water, give them one final scrub and then rinse very very well.

If it was an expensive jacket why dont u jst take it down to a launderrette or dry cleaners and ask if they can help you.
Anyway I hope this helps. I cant give you anymore advice until i know exactly what type of spot it is!

you didnt say what colour the spots are-
if its just literally washing conditioner and you are sure of that, just hand rinse it until clean.- You may want to leave it to soak for about 30 mins to an hour to ensure its evenly soked through (otherwise you'll get water marks) then rinse in the same way you would rinse soap from a face washing flannel.

Leave to dry hanging on a soft or rounded coat hanger.

If you see the spots are black- this could be mould, and this may need a stain remover like dirt devil or vanish to get rid of it.

If it is rust - similar to the mould, if the stains wont come off with stain remover, take them to a dry cleaners.

also, get your washing machine repaired or it may happen again!

Braveman,

it is NOT the fabric conditioner leaving the spots.

it is the washing POWDER. it is not fully dissolving in the wash.

switch to a LIQUID detergent and your spots will be gone.

I have this problem a lot. Not sure if it is my water or not. But usually I just wash the item again, and the fabric softener will wash out.

a cup of bleach in a washer full of water. run a cycle without soap, rinse twice
Also , you might want to use Oxyclean it comes in spray and powder. I like the powder better. Put 1/2 a cup in the washer full of water ( no soap) and run .

It should take it right off!

attempt a various conditioner... the chemical ingredients in fabric softener are not meant for hair or skin. additionally, do not wash your hair time-honored, it particularly is going to bathe out the oils that make your hair mushy and mushy. i think of it particularly is why its 'straw like' :) desire this helps
