Just wondering how many people hold this concept..sometimes i feel my life is just a game...something i have no control over...like something that someone already wrote, i'm just living it out...i dont believein "God" but i believe in something.

I do think that things happen for a reason, but I don't think that life is predestined. We have free will and we have the power to attract everything in our lives to us through the vibrations we emit via our thoughts, beliefs, emotions, words and actions. If they're positive you will attract generally positive experiences. If they're negative you will attract generally negative experiences. We are not victims nor do we have to let life "happen to us". We can consciously steer the direction of our lives in every moment, by being consciously aware of our thoughts and beliefs. For instance if you say to yourself out of habit "Oh, I'm so stupid or I'm such a klutz or I am fat or I can't remember anything" then that's what you will attract to yourself. We are often not fully conscious of the things we think or believe out of habit, not necessarily out of reality. So I think that we have the free will in every moment to create our own reality.

yes, but I am far from understanding it all. I am usually not happy even though I have studied positive thinking for 37 years. I should be an expert & I am actually very good at helping others. I was just getting ready to go back to a Q. I answered & did some research on to help someone get some added info. I thought about how I was helping someone & spent so much time doing that but in the past 2 weeks I have been stranded & in something that could be a huge problem if I don't find a work van soon. I have had to ask for help from others. I call people & ask how they are & keep in touch but no one does that for me. I have a husband & have made him a priority in my life but he could care less about me. My son is a good person & I appreciate him but he could really be helping me right now & he isn't. I would commit suicide but don't even know what I would do to go about it. I would be afraid I would survive. So what is the reason. I have been through some really hard things in my life. There is a message board I go to where the people are nice but I asked a question & someone was really nasty & no one gave me the answer but one person did write to acknowledge how nasty the person was. I just feel like I give so much to others but don't get much in return. I have learned all the great inspirational things to tell others so that line is a good one but it is a magic pill to get someone's mind off of their reality.

I believe that things happen for a reason, but I don't believe that everything in my life is pre-destined. If that were true then it wouldn't matter how much work I put into making good grades, graduating, etc... it would just happen. Obviously, this doesn't happen. Some things in your life may be destined, but not everything.

Here's "Invictus" if you haven't read it in awhile.

William Ernest Henley. 1849–1903

Invictus

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

I do. Fate, as believed by the early Greek Philosophers,as being, and forceful spirits that directed and determined a human's act and thought. They are supposed to be uncontrollable, meaning it is suppposed to determine the destiny of each being. I believe in it totally. We are like hand puppets with strings attached to the fate. We don't have freedom in this belief.

The essence that makes a human being is his free-will as contained by the soul or the mind, or the intellect. He has the freedom to choose how he wants to tackle the fate presented to his very own eyes.

Everything do happen for a reason, but it is our choice to alter them in a manner that the outcome is satisfactory to us.

Everything in life is pre-ordained by Divine Order. This philosophy is fully explained in the book "Another Thought" by OC Tross.

Sorta. Maybe not everything--we seem to make some of the decisions--I think--but at my place in life, I have asked for decisions to be made for me and I have enjoyed those decisions very much. My purpose in life at present seems to be doing for others and I love it.

Yes, I do believe that. An infinite, sovereign Creator planned it all and with purpose and reason. The more we let His plan be fulfilled, the more we are blessed.
