He's a woman? Maybe some perfume or a bra or a nice blouse.

Unless you're planning on buying him lube or something, his sexuality doesn't matter. Choose a gift based on his interests.

And it's rather insulting to say he's the "woman in the relationship." While some gay relationships can work that way, very few do, and it's a stereotype.

He isn't the woman in the relationship; unless he identifies as a transgender person, he's a man, who is in a relationship with another man.

However, as far as gifts to purchase-get him a gift that reflects your relationship with him, his personality and his likes. If he's a coffee drinker, a nice coffee mug and some really good coffee, if he reads a lot, a cool bookmark and a giftcard to a bookstore, and so on. His sexual orientation doesn't have anything to do with the kinds of gifts he might enjoy from you.

he's "the woman" in the relationship? I hope he doesn't read this, because that's really insulting! why do people think there's always a "man" and a "woman" in gay and lesbian relationships?
(I know you said "no smart remarks, but I had to point out that most of us would take offense to that!)
anyway......
do you know what movies(dvds)/books, etc. he likes? stores/restaurants he goes too (I like gift cards a lot, but don't know if he does)

Why buy him anything different from what you'd buy any other man? You could get him an inexpensive sweater, or a tie, just buy something along the lines of what you've seen him wear. It could be cologne, if he wears it. You could also buy him something for his desk area if you work in an office, a picture for his wall or desk. The thing is to not think of him as a "gay" co-worker you're buying a gift for; he's just a man you work with.

umm he's the woman? lol nm
if he's "the woman" and he's really fashion conscious then you probably shouldn't give him clothing... Though ties are good! Maybe you can get a solid-color tie or a tie with a really subtle pattern. gosh ties are so awesome. (i'm weird)

Um how about a book about something ... or novel or something. a bestseller.

Also you could give him a cd. I don't know if he'll think you stereotyped him but I like Andrea Bocelli's pop cd (amore or something) my dad is frickin addicted to it.

Maybe you could give him a gift card! to a bookstore or a music store or.. starbucks or to a tie store...

P.S. that's really nice of you to give your coworkers a gift i wouldn't do that lol.

Something for him. It's his birthday. It's not a joint birthday of him and his partner. It's not about who's what in the relationship. Buy him something for him. A small gift cert to a coffe shop he likes, or a tie if he wears them. One of the most memorable things I ever got from a coworker is a glass paper wieght that looks like a catseye marble.

As a gag gift? If not, why does his sexual preference determine what you are going to buy him? A gift certificate, spa day, anything that you would give to any other person would be just as good. Get him something with the number 50 in it, like the American Flag. Don't get him that though, its a terrible idea. LOL

It really doesn't matter that he is gay. Birthdays are birthdays. Give him gift certificate for $50.

Good luck.

I'd say that probably whatever you'd get a straight coworker. Don't really see how his sexual orientation would have any effect on the situation. Don't fret over it.

Really just get him anything he likes. Just because he's gay doesn't mean you have to get him something "gay" related. Do you know what kind of music he likes!? What his tastes are!? Get him something for him as a person, not because he's gay.
