My previous car reflected my personality more than my budget, but definitely reflected both (they're not unrelated -- there are people who are willing to sink a lot of money into a car and deal with the higher payments.....personality and budget are interconnected that way, know what I mean?)
My current car reflects neither, it just reflects the fact that I'm a parent of young kids (and found myself going the way of the mini-van.....a fact I still find hard to accept).

I live in Manhattan, so my "vehicle" is either an M 101 bus (if I'm just travelling around the neighborhood) or the # 1 subway train (If I'm going downtown or up to the Bronx)
And those are pretty pricey vehicles - those busses cost about $ 250,000 each and each subway car is worth over $ 1 million. But the MTA paid for em - I just pay $ 24 dollars a week for my unlimited metrocard.

Mine is a bit budget oriented, and you could also say personality to a degree. I went economical and long lasting with a Corolla. While it is not fancy by any means, it was a smart buy. Gets great gas mileage and looks fine. If you compare to a Lexus, well, its not as nice, but I can't afford that. You see what I mean.

Both, if you have a big budget you get the car that you want (fitting your personality) if you have a tight budget you get a cheaper car (fitting you budget)
