My IQ is 134, but how good is that really? Oh, and I am only 13.

That's considered above average, but not at genius level. It also depends on WHERE you got tested, though, as online tests tend to score you higher than professional evaluators will.

The thing with IQ tests is that the number doesn't mean much if you don't know which test it came from. Each different test (Stanford-Binet, Cattel, etc.) has a different method of scoring, so 134 on one might be equal to 157 on another. By the way, the number is called the "raw score."

What counts is how you scored as a percentile = if you scored at the 98th percentile (98%), it would mean you scored as well as or better than the top 2% of people who took this test (or you could say you scored better than 97% of the people who took this test).

Some of the IQ tests are actually designed in such a way that your raw score will be a higher number than other tests. Example: scoring at the 98th percentile on one of those tests might give you a raw score of 187 IQ. Scoring at the 98th percentile on a different brand of IQ test might give you a raw score of 155 IQ.

Incidentally, your IQ will remain approximately the same throughout your lifetime. However, some people do better on a particular brand of IQ test.

With all that said, 134 is good, regardless of which test and regardless of how old you are.

Incidentally, I'm a member of Mensa. Google that and you'll get some interesting information about IQs and some people who have high IQs (you'll be surprised at who some of them are) - and there's a games page with sudoku and a bunch of other pretty cool games.

It's above average. But remember that your IQ is just a score on a test. What matters is what you do with your intelligence, how you develop it. Also, intelligence is multi-faceted, but most IQ tests don't measure all of the facets (e.g., social or emotional intelligence).

Be happy that you've been blessed with some significant smarts. Be wise enough to sort out what areas you're best in, and humble enough to know you aren't best in everything. Be brave enough to risk doing and learning new things, because you'll never develop your full potential unless you take chances and fail sometimes.

Now forget about the IQ and go do your homework! :-)

If you got this from an online IQ test, don't believe it. They're not valid tests. Wait until you take the ACT or SAT, then you'll have a somewhat better idea of how high your IQ is (though neither of these are perfect IQ tests--they're ACHIEVEMENT tests).
