You don't become gay by any means.

If you're gay then you gay If you're not then you're not. Their is No becoming that's just like that question "How did you choose to be gay"! You don't choose you just know if you are or aren't.

About the parents. When I first come out I come out to my Uncle who was gay as well. I asked him how he talked to his mother (my granny) he said he was just honest. That's all you can do is just be honest and the longer you wait the harder It'll get. Like for me I come out to my mother and she said "I knew before you knew", I asked her how and she told me because I never dated a guy, and I had nothing but girls for friends. But for everyone first coming out that's IF you are gay It's different for everyone. All I can say Is talk to a family member that you trust and can tell anything too.

Good luck!

Honey, you don't become gay; you either are or you're not. It all depends on how open your family is to gay people. I haven't told my father because he is very homophobic, but my mother knows and excepts me for what I am and still loves me. Figure out which family member is the most excepting to talk to first, then go from there. I wish all the luck and love in the world.

So you are saying you are attracted to the same gender, and do not know how to be gay and not loved by your family as well. you could explain to your family that you think you are gay, but do not understand why, and you need them to help and love you. That is ok to say to your family or your mom. You should talk to your mom alone about this. She may understand more than you think.
You may have some gender nonconformity, and you may have never had a diagnose or treatment for this. You may have convinced yourself that you was born gay. This often happens to children that have gender nonconformity. You could look into this and see if it fits you, and that would give you more understanding, and more to talk to about with your mom. I would talk to your mom alone first.

Reiterating: You do not "become" gay. And you should refrain from saying that one "becomes" gay because that reinforces the mistaken belief that one's sexuality is a conscious choice.

If you want to come out to your family as gay, make sure you're absolutely certain. Then, make sure that (if you think they will react badly) you wait to tell them until you can support yourself financially. They might kick you out!

Good luck.

You can´t ´become´gay . You either are or you´re not. If you are serious maybe you should contact PFLAG (Parents and friends of lesbians and gays)...they are good people who can help you if you want...give them a call ..there´s no pressure.
