In my experience, there is no money on your library card. If you lost the books, then you have to tell the library, and then you have to pay what they say the books were worth. A library card is a kind of i.d. that says that you can be trusted to take books out. It's best to square things with the library.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking... If you have to pay for the book, the fines go away because they've been paid. There isn't usually any sort of currency associated with a library card, so there couldn't be any money going on or off the card.

If you haven't been fined for the books, and you're asking about why the fines haven't hit your card, perhaps someone found the books and returned them for you.

Try asking your local librarian what's going on and where the fines went. He or she should be able to help you figure it all out.

That's normal. When you pay for a book, you get a clean slate.
The fines accumulated for that book should be cancelled off your llibrary card.
