By swastikaed I mean some one spypainted swastikas on it. I threatend to file a police report against my frind for withhold ing information (I asked a police man and he said I had cause to do so) but my friend said he didn't care. What do I do?

Sometimes the best thing to do is the thing that's the hardest to you. You should file a report because this is not a minor crime or offense. It's serious and it has obviously affected a lot of people.

Your friend is not legally required to tell you anything, so you can't file any complaints on him. When the police report is filed for the vandalism, you go to the police station and file a witness statement, naming him as someone that has information. The police will do the rest.
They will bring him in for questioning, and if he doesn't tell them anything they will let him go. Only a judge can compel a witness to reveal information because only a judge can send someone to jail.

File a police report. Your friend will be questioned as a matter of course. Don't make it personal, just do what you have to do to expose the perpetrators. It won't go away if you ignore it.

Report it as far as your friend goes not much of a friend in my book.
I have had swastikas put on my stuff in my work place and the guy who knows isn't talking.
So I told my employer what I know and left it there.

Duh! How important is your faith to you? or the friendship? If you're sure your friend is very unlikely to retaliate against you or especially if (s)he has told others and can't pin reporting on you, file a police report!!! Antisemitism, racism, homophobia and the like are intolerable in civilized society......yes, even in the redneck American south!

who cares, people need to look beyond religion and all that stuff, jews have been rediculed throughout humanities existance and you still cry about it? try to do what ghandi did, the "nazi" who did this is probably just some moron, who really cares what one person thinks, just let the police deal with something importint.
