I don't have any ideas but have you tried searching online? They have websites that are dedicated to science projects. Type in Science project and human behavior on google and see what comes up.

In fifth grade I did a really great project on bacteria. I got petri dishes and made gelatin inside of them. I used Q-Tips to get samples of bacteria from the local supermarket, school, McDonalds...etc., (you just rub the Q-Tip along the surface of something in the place.) Then I rubbed the Q-Tip on the gelatin. I let them sit for a few weeks, recording the changes every 3 days. It's so surprising to find out how dirty places are!
If this doesn't sound good, I would suggest searching online or
checking some books out of the library.
Hope I helped.
Good Luck!!
(this could maybe fit into human behavior by the fact that humans put the bacteria there...i dont know)

I found a great site that has many different projects about the human behavior. Check it out and see which one your son likes.

it isnt hopeless... go to the public library and check out books on 'human behavior' for example...the use of rudimentary tools in case of emergencies or finding oneself in a dire situation which calls to protect oneself. something like that. good luck.
have fun with learning. peace
