I used to feel real bad and I would either give them money or buy them a meal from a fast food place UNTIL I seen someone give him money and as soon as that person was out of sight, he went to his car (that he parked on the other side of the parking lot) to put his "earnings" inside. When he went back to his "begging" spot, I went over to his car and took a peek inside and it was loaded with food and items that people had given to him AND it was a much nicer car than I had! That was the last time I ever gave hand outs to beggars.

I think, Great, more harassment from the "homeless!" since in my cynical mind I think most aren't. I think alot of them are supporting bad habits that prevent them from holding regular jobs and for some it's a way to make a living, tax free, mind you, with no ounce of shame.
Once in a blue moon I will offer whatever I can to help if I have a gut feeling that this individual has truly suffered or has gone through an unfortunate spell of bad luck . But most of the time I don't even carry around cash so it takes the decision making process away.

I saw a guy asking for money outside a Wal-Mart once. He stated he was hungry and asked me for a few bucks. I turned right around and went back into the Wal-Mart and purchased several food items and left them with him on my way out, as I didn't feel comfortable giving money. I thought I was doing a great thing, however, instead of saying "thank you," he but the bags beside him and said "okay..." What was that? If he was sooooo hungry, why didn't he start to eat anything? Because he wasn't...he wanted money. Since then, I have not given anything else.

I usually feel like they are paying for the mistakes they have made in their life. We all start out with opportunities. We have a free public education, grants for college and many other state and federal programs for financial assistance. These homeless people threw that away somehow, usually a result of drugs or laziness. I feel no pity because they are were they are to nobodies fault but their own

I feel that I want to give him a few bucks for food or a bottle
of Ripple or anything that will help him through that day. I
try not to judge him or ask why he's there or what he's going
to do with the money. My day will always be filled with friends,
dinners out, clean clothes, a roof over my head and the many
choices that most of us take for granted. His or her day is
just standing there hoping someone will help. I always keep
this in mind and try to give a few dollars.

I feel mostly pity. A little disgust. I mean, usually there's a McDonald's right down the road that's probably hiring. I never understand why they'd rather stand around all day, begging for money off of hard working taxpayers when they could just settle for a McJob and get off the streets. You know...contribute to a society that has been supporting them...

Well if it is drug related i want to go punch a drug pusher whilst they are sat in their own flash home warm whilst the addict suffers. If it is an old person my heart melts and i give, if the person is mad i call the police, so they find help. It's a sad world. A bout of depression could land any of us on the streets, i would hope some one would call the police on me if i was down and out.

I feel sorry for them. I usually give them a couple of dollars because they could be lying and they could not be. I think either way God will bless me because my heart was in the right place when I gave to them whether they misused the money or not. I would rather be the one to give to someone who didn't need it, than to pass someone by who did without a care.

I wonder if this person is honestly as helpless as they seem., or maybe they are just to lazy to do anything but bum off of others. But I do feel sorry for some who I truly believe needs some help.
And I do end up giving them some money.

I usually feel very sad. I also feel extremely guilty that I have been lucky enough to live a very good life and that others do not have the same opportunity.
