Because nickelodeon's target audience is children between the ages of 2 and 11, and no one really watched it. Nickelodeon decided invader zim is for an older audience. I am a big fan of Jhonen Vasquez, but invader zim was not one of my favorites. It just wasnt that good. I did watch it, but only because I loved the animation. There was a funny moment here and there (i loved the part where zim ate people's organs and the one with the giant pig), but it was the way it was drawn that I loved so much (especialy the characters' strangely zig-zagged tongues). Jhonen Vasquez has a great sense of humor, and certainly has a talent for drawing, and I do love all comic books he's done, especialy of course Jhonny the Homicidal Maniac. But as I already said, I don't really like his work with nickelodeon.

Hehe, yeah I loved that show too, but I guess people (kids) stopped watching it and went on to watch other shows like Spongebob, etc. and Invader Zim lost its viewers.
It was a funny show though =)

Because ratings weren't the best, nor reviews on the show.
Although, it's still aired and considered a nicktoon.
I think it might have been picked up by another station, check the tv listings here at yahoo. =)

For something "unpopular" it certainly has a following. Whoever likes it is devoted. I am, and thought it was a shame that it ended. But that's better than fading into mediocrity.

yah me too.they say it got cancelled by couldn't make anymore episodes....others say it became unpopular after a peroid of time......and yet others say that new shows took it's place. :_(
