hi there
im a bit like you i have gt pregnant on the pill twice :s
i have a 22mth old daughter madison and a baby girl who was born on 14th august 06 at 20 weeks genistation both them concieved on the pill diffrent pills mind you. but same outcome then i got pregnant 3 weeks after i had lost my lil munchkin. so i
am 24.2 datys so it can happen really soon so if you dnt want a baby i gess you will have 2 try iether the:
CONDOMS: you can get male non latex condons allthough more expensive, If used correctly is effective 95 percent to 97 percent of the time.
MINI-PILL: A progesterone-only Pill, which is taken at the same time every day
Can be started immediately but best to wait until any bleeding has settled, so three to six weeks post-delivery is often recommended.Efficacy rate is 96 percent to 99 percent
Depo Provera: best to be started six weeks post-delivery to reduce bleeding problems.
Is effective in seven days.
Efficacy rate is 99 percent or greater.
Implanon: A progesterone-only implant. The implant is approximately the size of a matchstick and is inserted in the inner upper arm. It releases progesterone slowly for up to three years (it can be removed before that, if required).
Can be started six weeks post-delivery.
Efficacy rate is greater than 99 percent.
Milk volumes are not reduced and hormonal transfer to the milk is very low when using the above three contraceptive methods.

I know that an IUD is all tha rage now, but I would advise against it. There are many many many side effects that doctors don't tell you about. And, although there are none that will admit it, SOME (not all) get a kick-back from certain insurance companies for putting their patients on it. I know of TWO close friends who have gotten pregnant on it, and both lost the babies. There is a lawyer that is trying to get a big class action case aginst the company that makes Merina, because of the side effects that aren't told to the paitent. They range from weight gain, to difficulty concieving after removal. It's very scary. I suggest if you're thinking about it, to do a LOT of research! I have one currently, and have only had problems with it since it was put it (bad cycles, slipping out, the "strings" pokeing my husband during intercourse). The removal is more expensive than the IUD itself, and because it's not been 2 years, the insurance company won't pay for it.
The only thing I can suggest is a "clamp" like thing, where you're tubes are tied, but not really. They are removable so if you want to have more children, u have that option.
Good luck, and don't jump into anything...lol..I know, it's a hard decision!

I just stopped breastfeeding in December and I can tell you that you can't use the patch or take whatever type of pill due to the estrogen that's in them. My doctor gave me "micro-norm". It's rather pricey (~ $48-60/mo), but they work. The only draw back that I had was the fact that you could still get pregnant if you didn't use protection. Also while I was on them I only had two periods (scary). Ask you doctor about them.
Hope this helps : )

there is IUD with hormones now (thats what i plan on useing) you dont have to remember it works for up to 5 years now has minimal side effects and works best after you have had a child.but of course talk to your doctor about bc too there are alot of other options out there.

I use Mirena (IUD with progesterone only) and I am breastfeeding. I know several other women who breastfeed and use an IUD. Since starting my IUD, I don't even get periods anymore!
