Don't buy the luvs I know many people have answered that but I work at a daycare and luvs are not the most absorbent. The best 2 types out there are HUGGIES SUPREME and PAMPERS. Don't even waste your money on the generics they are worse than luvs. The regular huggies are okay but the supreme are much better. Hope this helps.

My vote is for Huggies. I have a 2 month old daughter, and I tried Luvs...anytime she would pee, the diaper would soak through and her pjs and blanket, bassinet sheets would be TOTALLY soaked. Pampers Swaddlers aren't my fave either. They are cute when clean and dry, but smell weird and become squishy when wet. Also, when my daughter poops in these diapers, (and I mean I'll change her right after, it doesn't sit), the outside of the diaper turns a brownish color, like its about to leak through. And she has SUPER sensitive skin, so her pediatrician told me not to even try the off brands in case she breaks out.
I have 2 more packs of Pampers to get through, and I can't wait to be done with them. But I put my daughter in Huggies when we go for car rides, and I just went and bought boxes of Huggies today.
They may be a little more on the expensive side, but it's because they work.

I use Huggies, and they work well.
Teddy's Choice (I live in Canada, I do not know whether this brand is available in the US) - cheaper than Huggies, and works fine as well.
Most importantly - both Huggies and Teddy's Choice are fragrance free, and do not cause rash.
Pampers - my baby had a very bad rash when I tried to use it (I think it's because they put some fragrance in their diapers??). I will not use Pampers anymore.

Huggies, they also prevent leaks better because of their contour shape. If your little one is on the go alot they just fit more naturally, they might cost a little more but they absorb better and help to keep the bottom dryer longer, when its potty training time you'll want to switch brands or go to pull-ups so the child can actually feel that they are wet, yes Huggies ARE that good.

i think alot depends on the babys body and the way the diapers fit...i have 4 children, the first 3 used luvs or white cloud my son (now 1 month old) can only wear pampers everything else leaks.

Huggies are the most absorbent because they are full of chemicals. We use cloth (prefolds and pockets) for convenience, cost, fewer leaks and no rashes. I give up absorbency because disposables are stinky, messy and a hassle. There was a study done on this subject. I can't recall where I read it, but it was commissioned by a diaper manufacturer, so guess what the results were?

I would have to say Pampers.
Another variable you might want to consider for your experiment is the diapers designed for boy vs. girls, which is more absorbent, or are they the same?

Huggies and Pampers. The rest suck. Don't listen to anyone else. Saving money is not always best. The cheap ones give baby's rashes and leak.
