I had a toilet that leaked over time and destroyed the wood subfloor beneath it. Beneath the subfloor is cement (basement floor). What's the simplest procedure for removing the subloor? So far, the linoleum and baseboards have been removed and a small portion of the most damaged wood has been removed, but it seems very difficult to remove the remainder of the floorboard.

Use a circular saw. Set the blade height about 1/8" deeper cut than the thickness of the floorboard. Run the saw across and cut a square shape. Lift the cut piece out by using a hammer claw or a crowbar/prybar. It doesn't have to come out pretty, it just has to come out... beat it up until it gives.

The way we do it when we work on a house is you have to pop out all the nails in the subfloor to mortor subfloor. Then start cutting with a circular saw in little peices. There really is no easy way to do stuff like this. Thats why contractors charge so much money. Then after your done float the floor out where it needs it then prime with kilz paint if you want. Thats what I would do.
