Honestly a high school coach will be impressed by strength, speed, or size. Your gameplay your freshman year is the most important as it is what the varsity coach will use to piece the future together. Play hard, yes, but work on everything else. Be smart with your position, know the plays, make reads, and step in and make a difference for your team. You could show up to every practice and never play in a single game, but if you get strong or show that you can play varsity football as a sophomore then a coach will look at you.

Listen, I played high school football and started my freshman year at middle linebacker, then played a year of college. I can tell you this, I wasn't the fastest, or the strongest linebacker we had, but I WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE, AT THE RIGHT TIME... Yep, read offensive plays. Know what is coming. Study the game. You will be ahead of everyone else trying out for your position if you just work on this aspect of the game.
Yes, you need to do the things others have said: Work hard, show up early stay late, keep your grades up, practice as hard as you play, WORK HARD IN THE WEIGHT ROOM! Get a program together, outside of what is done at school. Get a personal trainer if you can find one and afford him.
Make an impact every time you step on the field...

on the tryouts, i might say tryout and make the JV team. you will in all probability get extra enjoying time with the JV than the college team and besides, if the college is short on gamers and want help they're going to come calling, besides JV Play provide you with enjoying time and probability to coach what you're able to do. whats up, do no longer forget those coaches might already observe of your play in case you play in community form Pony, Babe Ruth form Leagues. As for hitting, it variety of feels to me means hitters strike out too often, i might want a "grasp Hitter" that receives a fulfillment or sacrifice fly to attain runs and win video games. means hitters are dynamic yet they do no longer come by way of. One final suggestion, i've got self assurance this is going for activities, college and existence, artwork puzzling, hustle and don't provide up even while nobodys around watching, there is often your self which you answer to. whether you win, lose or draw, ask your self "Did I Hustle, artwork and do my toughest?" have you ever observed that coaches talk on the subject of the babies that hustled and performed puzzling and did no longer provide up even while they have been getting smashed score clever? Hustle, play puzzling, hear on your coaches and be a team participant.

Be the first one on the practice field, and the last to come off. Dont be afriad to go full speed in practice, even if your friends are going half speed ( really pop it to them) Lead your team.
Remeber...the very best know that the mind tires before the body, and push them selves beyond all limits.

depending on your position you have time to develop right now you seem like an average high schooler so just try to become a playmaker and you won't need to be fastest or strongest.

It depends how good the team is, but i am/was the same size. I ended up starting in the secondary and leading the team in picks. We ended up one game away from the state championship game.
