All women exchange sex for money. Due to societal pressure, ome women are in denial about this so they attempt to obscure the exchange by making it indirect (movies, dinner or diamond rings instead of a cash payment). Others are honest about what they do and openly accept direct payments, for which other women seem to frown upon them. Is this because the women in denial have poor self esteem compared to prostitutes?

Yes in the case of a girlfriend or wife that it takes place within a "relationship". But a relationship is merely a social construction which legitimizes the indirect exchange of money for sex while attempting to invalidate those women who accept direct exchanges.

Well..... women who are in denial don't talk about it because they are not confident enough and think that if they admit to it people wont like them anymore, so I guess a prostitute does have more self-esteem because they accept the fact that they are exchanging sex for money even tho they know people wont like them anymore.

Funny I have a loving man who don't buy me anything I am sure he would if i asked or needed to but not all women exchange sex for money beleive it or not some do it for Love. And like a guy wouldn't want sex they expect sex after a dinner or date they are the ones who are presiving this as and exchange chances if you would of met me before i found my life lover that i'm head of heals with still to this day :) oh yea if you and i would of went out and you would of expected sex you would of been holding on to blue balls for a very very long time! and don';t forget about the people that you love and that the felmales support and they want sex.
sorrry for your one tracked mined question i bet you make the male gender really proud!

The sad thing about this hole thing is that guys think they have to do all that special stuff. if a girl or a women likes you she will do what she wants with you regaurdless of what is in your wallet!
I wish you better luck with the females and hopefully you don't end up with the gold digger type cuz you did discribe a few people i know and with that role in there life being self obsorbed and greedy well i don't really hang out with people like that so when i met or run in to an old buddy who has those traits i'll be kind but i'll move on. it just isn't my thing!

Well agian best of luck try opening your mind and seeing things from more then one point look at a 3rd partys view a parents view a bosses veiw put your self in everyone else shoes THEN compile your view!

Mad luv!

You can't just say "all women have high self esteem." It's not a gender issue. Anyone can suffer from low self esteem. However, prostitutes and strippers usually have low self esteem because they think it's the only thing they're good at. You hear all these sob stories on TV about how it's good money and "it's all I'm good at." When in fact they're not confident enough to go out and get a real job. As for saying that all woman exchange sex for money... that's just ignorant, insensitive, and sexist.

Prostitutes get lesst out of a man than a house and half his money so some might start like feeling that they have actually a bad deal.
If anything women frown upon prostitutes because they decrease the value of sex. Why should a man appologize about an argument he was right on in exchange for access if he can go to a prostitute.
Not all think practical like that though. A lot of women get just as excited about a bundle of roses as over a diamond and frankly with the movie blood diamond around i wouldnt throw diamonds at the liberal gender for a while ^.^

The use of the term 'star' really does 'bug the hell out of me.' Actors and Actress's used to be just that until they had (through some criteria) had reached a pinnacle in their performing career. Not - seemingly - any more you don't. It seems that just to have a camera pointed at you and 'OMG, ?I've made it.' (yawn) Go to work in an office, and you take your mind along with your body for the statutory time of your employment for which you are paid money; even if you are a part-time / free-lancer, there is no essential difference. Prostitutes (sex-workers) are no different from the rest of the 'employed,' in that they are essentially paid for their time that they are 'occupied in providing a service' ~ same as a waiter, window cleaner, dentist, lawyer and so on ~ in that they provide a service. Whether you / we like that definition much, matters not because, there is a 'Customer' that wants a service done, and the sex-worker is willing (just like a dustman) to provide a service for the Customer. The difference between those on the street and those in front of a camera has to do with 'boundaries,' as the one on camera has to (likely) have personnel to meet her / his needs to continue in this, and the one on the street likely doesn't. If you think about it, the are members of the 'aristocracy' who make money from having their dogs and horses 'serviced' ~ and who also provide those 'Services,' for a hefty FEE. And this is looked upon as .....'moral'? (Ah, but it is 'Business.') Sash.

You're assuming all women are having sex honey! So nope, not all women exchange sex for money. Plenty of (heterosexual) women don't have sex at all-they don't seem too interested in men in any way, shape or form, babe. And your question sounds like you're talking about straight women...plenty of lesbians and bi women don't have sex with men, either.

And male prostitutes are paid to have sex with men or women, what is their self-esteem like compared to other men?

Finally, you're not living in the real world, where quite a few American women make more money than their male partners (I have and do now)...so are these men selling their sexuality, too? Do they have low or high self-esteem?

you r trippin! dude... women dont exchange sex for money !..i dont know from where u get this idea ..! however prostitutes do.the problem in your logic is that u put money as an end and sex as a mean, just as a prostitute :)! and nothing could be farther from the truth.. sex is an exchange of love and emotions..! then to raise families and have children. which is the essence of life...not sex ..not money..and certainly not prostitution..! and these gifts such as diamond rings ..etc etc...symbolize love and emotions because they are beautiful and pure just as true love ...not "payment and money" !...self esteem is related to success and who is more successful than a loving mother and a faithful wife?!

Although I don't frown upon prostitutes, it's a choice they make, ans some end up successful, I honestly don't have sex for anything money can buy, just plain, simple pleasure...and I have self-confidence, so it must be denial...cause im denying it.

I guess you haven't noticed, but women work now. That's right, we're out there, earning our own damn money. There are women who prefer the old ways of doing things, but most of us are able to support ourselves, thank you. Oh, we also like sex. Somewhere along the way, the word finally got out about the clitoris, and it turns out: sex is fun! Men no longer have to bribe us to have it! Well, at least the cute men who have a basic grasp of ettiquette and biology. You might want to get out of the Victorian era and come join us in the 21st century. It's a lot more fun, and there's less syphilis.

i don't exchange sex for money. i don't sleep around. how dare you think of women that way! shame on you! you should open up your mind and think of all women, not all the women that you know of. i've never had sex for money. i've had sex for lust and sex to make love with my partner. he didn't give me anything for me to do so! to answer your question: you are wrong. prostitutes have to be strong. they have to be strong for themselves, for their family and whoever they are supporting. remember this is their job. the reason why they chose this career is primarily because thats the only lucrative thing they know how to do. yes they probably like what they are doing but doing dirty deeds for someone you just met does not raise your self worth, to make matters even worse the guy pays her to do stuff...how do you think it makes the girl feel?
