You would think that a restaurant would want to sell as much as they could to every customer. Waiters always ask if anyone is interested in dessert, and even if they're not by the end of the meal, there's still the possibility that the restaurant could have made another sale if the people were wanting something else. If they ordered afterwards, the staff would have to make another check anyways and that's just more of a pain for them in the long run!

No it isnt good that they give you your bill as soon as your food is served to you. What if your food was not prepaired they way you wanted and you wanted it taken off the bill, or what if you decide that you want desert after your meal? then they'll have to re print a bill. Also what i do as far as a tip is Every time they are rude to me, I take 10 cents off of thier tip. Or if they're just pestering me trying to get me out the door because they're shift is over i take 10 cents off. I have had the same expierence at Shari's as well. In all honesty your better off eating at applebees, or red robin.

I have been in the service profession for years.
That is quite possibly the rudest thing I have heard.
What if you are not done eating?
If they do this with all the customers, what a complete waste of company resources.
That is a lot of paper.
The only place I could see handing you a bill as soon as your food comes is an all inclusive buffet or something like that.
If you get to eat and drink whatever is in the house at one price, then it would make sense.
Aside from that, the rudest thing I have heard.
The manager or owner should hear about it.

I think I would feel rather rushed if I got my bill along with my food. "Here's your food, now eat it and get out!!!!"...."but don't forget to tip..."...I would think the wait staff would actually allow to at least take a few bites of your food. Some restaurants hold the bill off till they get an impression that you've completed your main course. Usually, the check in with a "will there be any dessert." Once everyone replies no than they total up the bill.

I think that it's poor customer service if they're giving you your bill as soon as your meal arrives and I think they should wait until you're almost done, if you go to Shari's and they give you your bill early, report it to the manager and tell them how you feel about it and they should do something about it.

they give you the bill after you get the meal because some people are on a time schedule and have other places to go besides the restaurant.....you can still order dessert with the bill on the table....they are just putting you in control of your time instead of the other way around.

Thats there way of telling you they just want the money and don't give two hoots about good service. Good restaurants wait so you spend as much money as possible and as little time worring about you leaving your table to pay after your meal arrives meanwhile its going cold and then you have the right to send it back. It's more efficient. So you can eat and talk and well whatever without anyone disturbing you and wasting their time and yours. But there is a reason for paying when your meal comes not alot but a few people leave blank cheques or don't have money to pay but by that time its too late.

I personally like getting my bill after my meal it over that way I have had time to enjoy it with out worrying about how much money I am having to pay to eat there. Plus I have eaten at a Shei's and their service just flat out sucks.

I agree that some of the Sheri's restaurants give you the bill with the atmosphere of, "Here's your stupid food. Now pay for it and leave."
I personally prefer to get my bill after I have eaten, in case I want to add a desert or coffee afterwards, so the bill doesn't have to be redone.
I have stopped going there myself.

Thats bad restaurant etiquette. No one should have to think about the bill while trying to enjoy the meal.It sounds seems like they are trying to rush you (customers) out of the door also.
