Assuming this is hypothetical, I choose a) mob boss, because the Mafia has a strict code of ethics, they dine in first class restaurants on the "hill" in that famous mid western city. They also engender respect. Of the criminal classes that you pose, the mob boss has the most class and character. Incidently, an arms dealer is not necessarily a criminal until she commits an illegal act..

An arms dealer. I'd buy good quality false arms, and deal them out to the needy. OK. so it's not your idea of "an arms dealer", but I'm basically a nice person...in spite of the rumors

You left out government operative. You can move with impunity, commit history making criminal atrocities, with no possibility of criminal apprehension outside of a token bust, then pass yourself as a ' patriot.' Judging from the sewing circle you outlined, it seems these types of individuals escape prosecution on the flimsy grounds of
" insufficient evidence." Sounds more like official protection to me.

I'm with Scott K. To be original, though, I'd have to go with druglord or arms dealer. You got a higher demand market with higher yields.
