For Cosmetology, you have to attend a special cosmetology school. Most programs can be completed under two years. In order to do something like cut hair or give manicures, you have to be a licensed cosmetologist as recognized by the state. They do not make great $$$, but if you have wealthy clientele you can expect to make more, especially because you can charge more. Also cosmetologists can wax eyebrows, facials, etc...there are almost always tons of jobs because there are so many nail salons, hair salons etc in the United States.

I would look at want ads in your local newspaper,buy afew magazines that might give you some help,or serf the websites of
notable shops that offer this type of employment. The low end shops typically pay hourly + tips and the higher end shops are based on salary+ tips or,commission + tips. I hope this helps you.
