I have fair skin and when ever I try to get a tan I always turn red!!. I wanted to know if anyone had any secrets on how to become tan and not red.

Jergens Natural Glow Lotion works great. They have one for fair skin that gives you a gradual tan. I really like it. You can buy it at Walmart,Target, basically anywhere. Hope this helps.

I've seen it done. It's a long slow process that takes discipline. You need to tan, in a booth or outside, in small incrments over many days and weeks. It may take awhile to establish a base which will allow you to tan longer and you may never get that deep golden tan you see on the Hawaiian Tropics girls, but you can get some color other than red or white.
You're probably better off with one of those tanning creams.

im have farely fair pale colored skin. i always like being pale in school so i had never really tanned much. but after that i wanted to start going to the tanning beds. the girls at the tanning beds just started me out real short times (5 to 6 minutes) and gave me some bronzing lotion. and i went every day for a couple weeks to get a base tan down. and the first day or two i got a little pink but besides that i made out fine

If you can't naturally get a tan.. you can't get a natural tan! Maybe if you're outside a lot, you can get slightly tanner without being red? But really you should accept your paleness. I know someone with naturally very pale skin who was in the sun a lot and she's had skin cancer already! (She's only 17!)

try the tanning bed before you go outdoors to tan. Go in intervals of 10 minutes for your first 4-6 sessions. Also get a tanning product with a bronzer to obtain your base tan. That's how I do it! :) also make sure to moisturize frequently when tanning!!

There is no such thing as a "natural" tan that you're not born with. Besides, is looking good worth it if you get skin cancer?
