If Alan Trammell is not in the hall of fame how can they justify putting Vizquel in? I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The Baseball Writers Association is so screwed up it's not funny. 75% of the members don't even attend baseball games anymore and still are allowed to vote each year. What's wrong with this picture. The Veterans Committee doesn't seem to think anyone is worthy of the hall and hasn't voted anyone in in four years! They too need to be fixed!!

I have a list of players that should have been inducted long ago but because of a really lousy system they still wait. An even better question would be, why are the following former players not in the hall of fame?

Ron Santo
Jim Rice
Dwight Evans
Dave Parker
Don Mattingly
Gil Hodges
Rich "Goose" Gossage
Andre Dawson

Just to name a few. The system stinks and it needs to be corrected............NOW!!!

NO - Vizquel is only an average hitter at best - 18 seasons
BA-276 OBP-342 SLG-360 H-2472 HR-73 RBI-818

SB-366 CS-146

Range Factor 4.39 FLD%-984 >The RF is only average > The fielding % is excellent>he has the best hands I have ever seen, but not very good range...

Ozzie Smith does not belong in the HOF either - 19 seasons
BA-262 OBP-337 SLG-328 H-2460 HR-28 RBI-793

SB-580 CS-148

Range Factor 5.03 FLD%-978 - excellent range>very good fielding %

IMHO the HOF is for the greats of the game, not the, he was pretty good.

Like a brilliant man once said "I would rather have it ask, why I have no statue, than why I have one"

No. Plain and simple. Hall of Fame voters vote based on offense. The guy is sick with the leather, but that will never get him into the Hall.

Yes, he is a great fielder and consistently hit over .300. He could steal some bases too. The only reason he doesn't get the credit he deserves is because he couldn't hit the long ball.

No.

Not good enough. Excellent fielder with below average bat.

Just not good enough. Look at some of the players that DON'T get into the HOF, that will give you an idea of the great talent that just isn't enough.
