Many of the contestants absolutely suck this season, especially the males. What tha' deal? Is this the American Suckiest Idol or what?

I agree...the guys this year are really underwhelming...I haven't really like any of them. The girls are much better!

I think the difference between the males and females that most people don't consider is that most males singers (that have already made it) make it with one style or brand of music. What they try to do on American Idol mixes it up and you don't always get the male at their strength each week. Like Phil sucked tonight bad, but normally he's pretty good. Song choice is everything.
To contrast, the girls have the softer more versatile voice and it's easier to listen to them switching styles and genres.
Think about it, really....

YES!!!! I'm watching it right now. I personally think that they have should have picked the top 24 not top 12 girls and top 12 boys. Because did you notice like 3/4 of people at Hollywood week were females......that obviously meant they had more talent. If they are trying to treat men and women like EQUALS then that is what they should do.

These are the worst collection of male singers ever. There were a lot of them on Hollywood week that were much better. They did well with MOST of the females!

If you paid attention, during the screening shows they consistently had trouble finding male talent. Apparently men don't sing as good of women on average.

it is looking like a kareoke bars with the guys there... very mediocre. Not that I'm any better... however these people are competing for fame. They aren't horrible... just nothing really spectacular.

well there are only a few good guys. i think though that the competition wasn't as great as it was previously.i think they are having a hard time lookong for contestants.

Yeah, I think they totally messed up. Surely there were better picks out there than these we've ended up with. It's very disappointing.

lol im not sure but im sad that one girl got off she was like hispanic or something sang a shackera song at the interview
