As a healthcare provider who spent some years in OR, I can tell you that you do not want to be awake for this surgery....they won't let you...a local for this does not exist...if your gallbladder is bothering you enough...you will submit. It is nothing...it happens a billion times a day. You will not be aware of falling asleep...and the neat thing about waking up is that you will have no concept of time passed by. Not like when you are sleeping and you wake up and you are aware time went by. It will feel like you closed your eyes and then immediately woke up.

i had this surgery done and it is a piece of cake... being asleep is better and you wake up immediately> or at least it feels that way:) you don't even realize the procedure was done because of the anaesthesia... dont worry!
and if you are worried"scared" now imagine if you were awake and seeing them do the procedure? of course you wouldnt actually see it but just to see the doctors and hear them... come on thats more freaky!
just grow some -----! it will be okay
