i have a small hole (due to rust) on the lower part of my cab on my truck, what is the easiest and cheapest way to fix it, and what is the correct way

the location is on the lower cab and is about to be on the back side, maybe 2x3 inches, and it is on the very bottom so no one can really see it

If it is only a small hole and the surrounding metal is strong I would use a sheet metal screw with a rubber washer, this would keep water and dirt out of the cab. If it is a newer model or a classic you plan to keep for many years you would need to cut out all the rusted area and weld a sheetmetal plate to fill up the area. It would have to be cleaned, primed and repainted.

the cheapest way realy depends on how big the hole is. i have a 1975 chevy c10 it had a few big holes around the same area. i used spray foam (in a can) to fill the holes. then i cut away the excess foam, sanded, then put bondo, sanded again then painted.but for a pro job take it to your local welder shop most of the time you can get it done for 20 to 60 dolars then grind it n paint it
