There are several options in hearing aids, but that depends a lot on the type of hearing loss your sister has.
It will take an adjustment and she may have some jerks at school say things, but being able to hear and communicate more easily will mean more to her than the opinions of some ignorant fools.
I recently had a 10 year old boy get a hearing aid through me. At first when he got it, he loved it; but then his first day going to school, he got a little self-conscious. So his mom talked to the teacher and they decided to have him do a 'show-and-tell' kind of presentation. A lot of times other people just have questions that they are not sure how to ask, so by explaining a little about how it helps and allowing the kids to talk about it reduces the stigma around it. He now wears it with confidence.

There's nothing wrong with a hearing aid! Today they manufacture hearing aids that cannot even be detected unless that they are shown to another individual!

It's a good thing that it was detected early. Sometimes things like this go for years before someone realizes somethings wrong....in the meantime grades can suffer ect. Do you have a problem with this?

There is no age requirement for difficulty in hearing. It's good that her hearing problem has been diagnosed early on, so that it doesn't interfere with school work and social development.

first of all, i'm very sorry for what you're dealing with. You deserve particularly some credit for the surprising interest you seem doing along with your guy or woman little ones and how you have taken on your youthful sister. you do no longer pick a referral from a physician, yet you could save around a splash for one with a sturdy popularity. refer to each and each therapist first till now allowing her to talk on your sister. be sure the therapist knows the situation, and get some referrals from her to probable discover some camps, colleges, and so on. maximum suitable of success to you.
