Today in athletics a teacher came up and told all of us who had not been in an actual sport (I'm in offseason) that we would be getting F's on our report cards. The reason for me not being in a sport was due to the complete stupidity of the secretary and principal. And, was not caused by my laziness. What should I do??? Please help this would be my first grade under an A.

One of the worse things is that this teacher doesn't even teach offseason he just assigns grades to the boys in all athletics classes

Sue. (I'm only half joking...) Talk to the principal first. There is no way he can give you an F for not being in a sport (What would he do if he had a student in a wheel chair or a student unable to participate in sports for health reasons? ) Also, some students don't have time for high school sports. There are a lot of extracurricular activities that are actually useful that people do instead. Did he actually require the students to do anything in gym class? Well, if he did, then you deserve some kind of grade besides an F (If you did what you were supposed to). If he didn't, he can be fired because he is being paid to be there and educate. If the principal agrees with him, take it to the board of education, but the principal should be on your side.

First, unless you are in a magnet school for sports, you cannot fail simply because you don't participate in a sport, offseason or not. Second, look over the course syllabus and check the grade scale to see how coursework in weighted and what work is required. Third, gather proof that you did the work: returned homework, tests, assignments, etc.
There is a chance that the teacher was just having a bad day and made a really bad joke, but your parents can call the school and discuss that with him, which would be totally justified in this case. You may even want to attend the meeting and have an administrator there.

First of all, you cannot fail just because you aren't in a sport that is active. I am in complete consensus with the people above me in the answer log. Your principal would have to talk to your gym teacher stating that you are offseason, as well as being in a sport, and can pass regardless of activity.
