Strange, i just got 3 from a yahoo group that i am registered with. I'd say just ignore them if you're not interested.

i have some yahoo groups i enjoy. freecycle. free cafe, and 3 karaoke groups. usually there are a few quick auto-posts with TOS, objectives, "please intro yourself to the group", etc. still, the decision is yours. you can also opt out of e-mail from them and visit only when you choose to.
