The Indians believe in not disturbing "Mother Earth" as they put
it. As long as they didn't defile her beauty she would provide for
them. Then the White Men took over leading them through one war after the next, finally leading what was left of the Indians down the "Trail of Tears". By that time there wasn't anything they could do to stop anything the White Man said or done. Yes they
were angered over it but, when it comes to the all knowing White Man there wasn't going to be any stopping them. All they could do was apologize for what was being done to defile her beauty.

I'll tell you what, it is more then just graffiti... It is carved into part of the Black Hills (Paha Sapa) which has always been considered very sacred. What they did was akin to destroying a historical church, defacing it, and disrespecting it.

And now they carve up more of this sacred land to "honor" people with the Crazy Horse Memorial in construction... Guess that would be like going after another historic church.

Yes. It is offensive. The Black Hills, where Mt. Rushmore is located, is sacred ground. This sacred ground was desicrated when Mt. Rushmore was built. And people still visit it today, to look at a picture of Presidents knowing that it is descrated sacred ground. It is horrible!

if you wait a hundred years, your graffiti will be art too, if they don't paint it over beforehand.
