My mother-in-law had a miscarriage then went back to the doctor a few weeks later to make sure that everything was ok. Her doctor told her not to have sex during that time, but she did, and when she went back the doctor told her that she was pregnant and she ended up having a healthy baby girl(my sister-n-law) I would wait a couple of days though because sometimes a miscarriage can mess up your cycle. Wait a week then take a pregnancy test.

Well, it is possible, but it is more likely that her cycle has not returned to normal as of yet. It takes a few months for the cycle to get started again, and it generally does not go back to the dates before pregnancy. More likely, the cause of the positive test is the residual hormones left in her body. Those hormones can hang around for quite a while after pregnancy. She should go get checked out anyway by her doc- especially to do a follow-up on the miscarriage and make sure everything is healing well. After my miscarriage, it took several months for my cycle to return to a normal pattern, and I tested positive twice during that time after due to hormones.

Absolutely. Even after a miscarriage, you can ovulate as you normally would. She should take another test in a few days just to be sure. While doctors normally advise you to wait until you have had at least one period before trying again, your friend should be just fine, and so should the baby. Think about how many "Irish twins" are out there who are doing just fine....this is not quite, but still more or less, the same thing.

Yes she could be pregnant although it can take up to 3 months to loose her hcg level. as its so soon after miscarriage she should get checked out just so she no's all is ok. Its not to soon some women ovulate as normal after miscarriage and some dont for a while.

She could be, but it could also be that her hormones haven't returned to normal since the miscarriage. She should check with her physician asap!

Yes, it's possible, but the same thing could happen. If I were her, I 'd spend as much time as possible in bed, don't overexert, don't lift, and get prenatal care asafp.
