I live in a city with about 250,000 people so not too small not huge. And people are nice here. So tonite I saw a woman carrying bags of stuff she had bought and walking on a busy street. It was cold and dark. I saw her later like a mile from where I'd first seen her after I had gone and done my stuff. I pulled over and offered to give her a ride. I will do it anytime and have many times as long as they don't look dirty or extra crazy. Is this a bad idea? I really feel like if I was walking a long ways someone would try to help me. I'm just want to help whoever I can. Does anyone else do this????

You did the right thing to do, but because of insecurity probably is a bad idea for many, you have a good heart.

I do this all the time also. I hate to sound sexist but I think people aren't as quick to test a man as they are a woman. That doesn't make me exempt from danger, I just use the common sense I got from Mom and the Good Lord. But you can't help everybody. If something doesn't feel right, don't do it, at least your heart is always in the right place. The thought of helping a stranger doesn't even cross the minds of most people! Wouldn't hurt to have a taser either.

Yeah I do. I've also let homeless people sleep on my extra mattress in wintertime so they dont have to sleep on the street.
It just shows you have a good heart and arent afraid of helping people you dont know (many people are).
Too many people in this society just turn around and ignore people who are havin trouble.
Youre a good person, do what you feel is the right thing.

Ever heard of Ted Bundy?He would look like he had a broke leg or arm and ask good people like yourself to help him and then end their life.Please be careful doing this.It is good that you want to help but with all the weirdos out there it makes it hard to know who you can trust.
