$0.50? $1, $5, $10, etc.? Some people call me childish for getting mad because another person borrowed $10 from me & didn't pay me back. If it were $1, I'd let it roll off my back & not trust them anymore.

it would be $25, but only on the two parties agreeing and promising--- a person's word should be his bond, his creed.

It is actually the PRINCIPAL of someone borrowing money from you and taking advantage of you for not paying back. This really irritates me, too. For those who tell you it's childish, seriously, ask them to borrow $10 and not pay it back rght away. then they might get it. Next time someone asks you to borrow, ask them when they plan to pay you back. Negotiate a time frame enough that it will stickin their mind to pay you back. That way it won't be so awkward to bring it up, if needed. We all work hard for our money and it isn't cheap to survive anymore. I am with you on this one.

I think it is a matter of perspective. In that, if you have more money, it would take more money to make you upset. If you have less money, then less would upset you. $10 wouldn't bother me now, but when I was younger it might have. Just be careful, most people would hate to ask for money. And then there are users who could care less about asking or paying it back.

I don't lend money. If a person has a need I help them and tell them it is a gift that does not have to be paid back. That way, I never get upset over a little thing like money.

I don't let ANY amount bother me. I will weigh the probability of them paying me back first. If it is a good probability then I loan them the money. If they don't pay me back then I paid that money for the knowledge of knowing they cannot be trusted and to not loan them money again.

I think for me it's not so much about the amount, but the reason for not paying back. When I lend money out wether its $5 or thousands of dollars, I dont expect to see that money back. Dont lend out any money that you cant afford to lose!! Relatives are the worst, they assume that they dont have to pay you back. Friends usually pay back because they are obligated!!!

i would be more mad if they borrowed a dollar and didn't pay me back, because its like come on you can't come up with a dollar to pay me back. if it was 10 or 20 dollars then maybe they really don't have it.

it depends on the person and how much money i have at the time. a good rule i have is "never lend more money to someone that you are willing to lose" and also "if a person does not pay you back then don't lend to them again" because that just makes you an idiot. i wouldn't lose a friendship over a dollar but i do respect your principles.

If I GIVE it to someone, I don't care-- I've given hundreds before for the right reasons. But when I loan something to someone, that feels different-- if they say they are going to pay it back & then don't, that is breaking their word--- that bothers me.
