Geeez, if it could kill me, shouldn't they tell me right now? Maybe I have some in my fridge and I am about to eat it for dinner. If only the tv news station would share that important information with me now, they could avoid killing another 600 people...

I agree with you about the TV stations holding this info back. Really it's just a ploy to get you to watch the late news.
If someone were to die eating a food product they could have known about if the TV station would only tell, would have a good lawsuit.
They could be doing us a service by having us skip a meal and waiting until we see the news. Look at the calories and money we would save.
