You have 1 fuse attached to the battery? Ok, maybe its just 1 particular fuse that blows? Start by pulling them all from the fuse box, then connect the neg term, then install each fuse 1 by 1 until the problem re-appears. Makes it easy to find a place to look that way.

69 is a nice car....like a super bee. I had 2 of them a couple road runners, satellites etc.
You ignition switch runs most of your accessories. Start there by disconnecting it and re-connect your battery. If the fuse blows again the accesory hot wire going to the headlight switch. Disconnect that at the switch. Still no luck, pull all the fuses and check the output sides for a grounded connection.

A fuse blows because of overcurrent. This happens when you have a short in your circuit. The short usually refers when you have a +12V source that is touching ground.

You have a dead short to ground. A wire with 12volts is touching or is hooked up incorrectly to a grounded cicuit . What fuse is blowing anyway?
