That is not true at all. A person can be sued regardless of their financial situation. If they do not have the money to pay the judgment it ruins their credit history, any current and/or future wages will be garnished, jail time is possible as well. Not all debts can be included in a bankruptcy filing.

They can sue you, but they wouldn't because even if they win, they can't conceivably collect anything. This type of defendant is commonly known as a "judgment proof" defendant. In this case, no attorney will take the case because of the unlikelihood of getting paid.
If you were to get a judgment, it would be in effect until paid off (maybe never). You can use the judgment to garnish future wages, or put a lien on future assets, should those become an option.

Not At All!!! They can sue you, they just wouldn't be able to collect the judgment against you, so what's the point in suing you?

Nope - they can sue you and your future earnings will be taken. The problem is, even if you get a judgment, it's up to you to collect.

Even if you don't have the money presently, they can still garnish your future wages. You can't run from a monetary judgment. Well, maybe if you're O.J. Simpson.

Depending on the reason for suing you they can get a financial judgement against you and just wait for you to get money. They can put a lien against your bank accounts.

Yes you can be sued even if you don't have the money. If they win then they can try to collect the money through asset seizure, wage garnishment, etc.

yeah. my ex was sued and it was ordered that he pay $250 a month towards the balance. we couldn't afford it, so he filed for bankruptcy & didn't have to pay.
it depends on the entity that is sueing. a car insurance company sued him.

Not true. They can still sue you. Collecting from you, however, may be another story.
