Yes I find it pretty annoying. The U.S. needs cheap labor, so Less Developed Countries are always first choice. If they hired English speaking people like those who live in Europe or the U.S., the companies would have to worry about wages and conditions of the company. Quite sad, isn't it?

But the people need those jobs.

Luckily for me, I married a computer tech/admin. He deals with all the problems and fixes them instead of having to deal with that crap. I feel sorry for people that have to call someone for tech support. However, you might find this cartoon funny. Go to www.illwillpress.com, click on cartoons and look for one that says technical support. You might like it :P

YES!! i don't know why you would hire someone to talk on the phone all day that people on the other end can not understand. i am guessing they are the only one's that will work for what they want to pay (or maybe they didn't understand when they got the job!)

I know what you mean....they are mostly from India. I rang up once trying to work out my broadband...after waiting an hour on the phone, a man came on and I could not understand a word he was saying.....

OH MY GOD YES!! My internet wasn't working and I called the company and I had to wait...first of all for over an hour...and believe me I was so mad....and then I got this guy in like the middle east or wherever their call center is and he was like, "Hello, my...name...is...bob? How may I help...you...today...ma'am?" I couldn't undertand anything the poor guy was saying! I hung up the phone and started screaming at it...hahaha...

I do. ... But odds are they speak English better than I can speak their native tongue...so they're taking a bigger step forward than I ... in the end.

Yes, it's hard enough for me to understand technical crap. Geez, you'd think if you press one for English, you'll actually get someone who speaks the language functionally well!
