http://knittingpatterncentral.com has tons of free patterns, but they are not labeled by experience level.
http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/free_patterns/ and http://knitty.com/archive.html are websites that have a variety of free patterns with experience level listed, plus http://knitinghelp.com has videos on how to do many of the stitches/techniques needed for the patterns, such as increases and decreases and turning the heel of a sock.

there are lots of free patterns online, these are my two favs. do a search for free knitting patterns and you will have lots to choose from.
