The reason we're takeing another test is because it's been 2 1/2 months since the baby was born and she's late and showing signs of being PG again and the test showed positive.Soooooo that's why we would be takeing another test.If you don't know the answer to the question then leave it alone, don't try to answer my question with a question.

its been 2 1/2 months, chances are she is pregnant, many ladies get pregnant at their 6 week post appt after giving birth.
I would trust the test since lots of time has past, go to the doctors to confirm. After giving birth, a women's body is highly fertile, probably one of the worst times to have sex!
good luck

Your question wasn't very specific. Sure, she maybe pregnant again, so I would definitely be consulting your doctor! I am unsure as to how long the HCG levels stay high straight after birth though, only an expert would be able to help you there. But remember it can take quite some time for a period to come after birth also.
They say after having a baby (and also after miscarrying) your body is 'primed' to get pregnant again.
Congratulations! It's better than what we have been doing.....trying for over a year for a second.

However, the more hCG you had in your system when the pregnancy ended, the longer it will take to dissipate. HPT's can even detect residual hCG for up to 6 weeks following a full-term birth. It's a possibility you should keep in mind if you get positive HPT results soon after a previous pregnancy ended.

If she thinks she is pregnant then she should have a blood test done.

I had a miscarriage and they were keeping an eye on my HCG levels to make sure they didn't spike, which would be indicative of cancer. It took a couple of weeks to bring the level down to zero. So if I would have had a pregnancy test within that time, it would have shown positive.
