Everybody worships it more than God. Also, can you imagine a world where you don't have to have money or much of it to live a happy and successful life?

Yeah I can imagine such a place it is called my home. Me and my fiancee are so thankful that we can pay the bills and eat. Thats it, we dont go crazy for name brand clothes, we dont constantly worry about tommorrow, we live for today. I wish that the U.S could turn away from being obsessed with money but for some odd reason you cant get it thru anyones head that happiness doesnt equal money. It would be great if people werent put down because of not having money as well which is the stupidist thing I have ever heard of. I do not worship money mor ethan God, I thank him for blessing me with the opportunity to live such a great life in a trailer where you have to drive thru a creek to get to. I feel as though I am successful in life, I might not be overflowing with cash but I am rich in spirit, soul, health, and love!!!! Who else can say that??

I will answer your question for a nominal fee.

Seriously, though - I think "everybody" is taking it a little to far. Yes, there are a lot of greedy people, but some value their family, friends, health, etc. more than money. I used to dream of the world you describe, but have come to the sad realization that it won't be happening in my time, nor for many generations (if ever). So the best that you can do is share what you have in the best way you can.

We need a certain amount to make ends meet and live a decent life. If you don't have money in this world it's a real problem. But life is NOT about money, and I don't think most people worship it.

I think US is a consumer society and the culture its self does not allow for too much spiritual time. Busy work hrs, not too many days off makes life more difficult to be around people and therefore to enjoy just the simple pleasure of being around some one.

I moved from Europe almost 4 years ago and still not getting use to it to this life style.

Because we are really into BUYING things. It's all the advertising in the media.

Yes, I can easily imagine a world where money is not the most important thing, but there is a large gap between here and there.

Money = Power.

Also, any obsession fills a void or emptiness. We, as a people, are becoming increasingly unhappy. W/pollution and disease and poverty there's a negative cloud descending upon the world. Money is tangeable. Spirituality is not. Too much grasping. Not enough meditation.

Namaste.

considering that society pretty much has it that you cannot live without it. ( I have always said I dont want to be stinking rich, but rather to not have to worry about stuff). The truly rich have their problems too, just not financially.
It would be nice to not have a lot of money to be happy and successful.

Chasing money and hoping life will get better is so much more easy than taking a good hard look at what is really important.

Because you need it to survive. Currency is the exchange medium for goods and services that are NEEDS and also wants. That is why it gets the emphasis.
