First take a deep breath and stay calm.
Spotting does not mean you will lose the baby, the plecenta could be attached wrong in witch case you may lose it you may not, Sex can cause spotting, stress can cause it as well. there are many things that can cause it.
Call your DR asap. they will do an exam, maby an ultrasound, and they will explain what is going on.
The ER is not your best choice depending on the hostials around you. My dr told me more then once do not go to the ER call him if anything went wrong.

I think light spotting and light cramping is normal during pregnancy for some women. You should go to the hospital though just to make sure. Good luck!

Go to the hospital, now. Take deep breaths and try to stay calm. You're in your first trimester and this can happen. It doesn't absolutely mean that you're miscarrying, but it DOES indicate that you need to be seen AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Don't put this off until tomorrow. Good luck! We're all rooting for you!
