1. There was such opposition to the constitution because many states such as New Jersey felt that their independent- almost their own country-like power was being taken away and they would have to live under what a unified national government said.
2. There wasn't really any violation of ideology because they rebelled against the supreme demagogue, the king, but by giving the power to the people to choose president they were living in their peoples-power ideology.
