She does not want flashbacks of her nights at the "fantasy inn".... in other words, mirrors on cielings tend to look cheap, and are usually there for the pleasure of the people on the bed... possibly mom doesnt want that image portrayed in her daughters room

Is she into the ' feng shui ' chinese belief ? coz if she does, putting a mirror on the ceiling is one form of bad luck according to some feng shui experts.
