Actually, newspapers are very sanitary. When the paper is made it is sanitized to keep from spreading any germs. Medical people are trained to use newspapers if no other sanitary bandages are available.
You can wrap food in it, etc. This has been done for as long as newspapers have been around.
I think the big issue here is how to tear it and fold it to do the job the easiest. The fresher the better.

Toilet paper didn't always exsist.
Before it was invented in the late 1800's people regularly used newspaper, pages from old books, or leaves.
So yeah, it'll work in a pinch, anything to get the job done.

Newspaper will clog up your pipes. You should only use toilet paper or tissue paper, anything else could clog your pipes and lead to expensive problems.

No. The chemicals in the ink can actually cause irritation down there, if not an infection. You should avoid using anything with ink or perfumes.

flow forward - this is what we utilized in England in the process the conflict Years. the economic bathroom paper, once you should get it which wasn't very frequently, replaced into like greaseproof paper with a vibrant floor! not very clever!

well you could use it, i would rather a washcloth, but you would have to wash it immediatly. be sure to wash down there as there is ink in the paper and it will probably end up all over your skin, oh and ouch, it'll hurt

Yes it does do the job, but i prefer just using the toilet water to splash on my bum and that seems to be alright...
